It looks at the factors that contribute to the initiation and perpetuation of human trafficking; the positive and negative impacts of human trafficking in Hadiya 2a30 volvo the combating mechanism and the challenges in curtailing it. The researcher employed qualitative research methods.

Regarding data collection structured and semi-structured interviews, observation and focus group discussions were used. Theories dealing with the initiation and perpetuation of migration and human trafficking were reviewed. Transnational human trafficking in Ethiopia in general and in Hadiya in particular is not exhaustively studied. The limited studies in the area did not address the intra-continental human trafficking from Hadiya to South Africa at all.

They mainly focused on the Ethio-middle east transnational human trafficking. Findings from this study show that socio-political, economic, cultural, legal factors, and institutional problems, security challenges, and other factors as the major causes that contribute for human trafficking in the study areas.

It also shows the negative impacts of human trafficking including human right violation, security challenges, and debt bondage. Positively, migration enables the victims to get remittance, educational opportunity, transfer of know-how, and cultural integration. Moreover, the study reveals the prevention, protection, rehabilitation and prosecution mechanisms on curtailing human trafficking in Hadiya.

By the same token, absence of clear legislations, institutional problems, lack of national and international co-ordination were identified as challenges of combating human trafficking.

In nutshell, this study ignites further studies, and intervention of policy makers on the problem of human trafficking in Hadiya zone in particular and the country at large. Transnational Human Trafficking. N F Natoli Feyissa Author. PDF version for only 1.

Contact us. All Rights Reserved. Ahmed, S.In the lush, green, Hadiya Zone of Ethiopia sit several schools dedicated to educating and empowering young people. The schools have large compounds, multiple classrooms and can accommodate hundreds of children at a time. No one would guess, just by looking, that these schools fall short in serving disabled, underprivileged and marginalized children.

In Ethiopia, hundreds of thousands of children are uneducated simply because they fall into one of these categories. Many children are denied access to education or are offered minimal support by institutions and teachers who often refuse or are reluctant to make adjustments to their teaching methods. Access to education for children with disabilities is further limited by a lack of understanding about their needs, and a dearth of trained teachers and learning facilities.

As a result, many children remain out of school or drop out prematurely. The goal of this project is to remove learning barriers and create a culture of respect toward individual differences.

With this in mind, PIN selected 10 schools and built resource centers stocked with learning materials, mobility aids and accessible toilets to enable universal access. Tarikua Tiqemo, a year-old girl with a mild learning disability, attends Danama No.

We attempted home schooling, but quickly abandoned our efforts for fear she would not understand the lesson. She is now able to understand basic numbers and letters and every day she learns something new.

The community workers are always following up on her progress, going so far as coming to our house to encourage us to continue to support and believe in her education. I am relieved that she no longer has to sit at home. I know she is capable of reaching great heights. Tarikua is equally upbeat. They also give me soap, tissues and sanitary pads whenever I need them.

Tarikua is not alone. Etenesh Elias, also 14, was born with stiff legs. Her mother and I would always fear she would get run over by a car or get trampled by bulls. The teachers are more patient with me; they always assure me that I am as equal as the other students. PIN also provided Etenesh with a wheelchair. My son is often misunderstood because he stutters. The teachers here take the time to understand him and, as a result, acknowledge his potential.

Selamawit, who is 10, broke her leg falling into a shallow hole when she was only five. They even encouraged her to try walking.

Now, I walk all the way to school and back and I no longer have to be carried around. I am very happy that they pushed me to try, I would have never attempted it on my own. It has been four months since they started school and they have never missed a day. We are also happy to be receiving monthly financial support from PIN. But it is education for his children, he said, that is the greatest commodity.

As part of the inclusive education project, PIN organized a large public awareness campaign to reach parents who still believe their children are unworthy of attending school. Once potential schools were identified, teachers and community workers were trained to support these children, and as a result, the project engaged more than 1, direct beneficiaries and 17, indirect beneficiaries. These children were specifically targeted by PIN because they came from families with misconceptions about what types of education was available for special-needs kids.

Denying education olatni uzaytirish children with disabilities or those who come from marginalized groups has a lifelong impact on their learning, achievement and employment opportunities. This is turn hinders the economic and social development of entire communities, which is why PIN continues to support initiatives designed to educate every child. Assessment on the Implementation of Process Approach in Teaching Writing Skill: The Case of Preparatory Schools in Hadiya Zone Abstract: The main purpose of this study was to assess the implementation of process approach in writing skills in preparatory schools of Hadiya zone which is found in southern part of Ethiopia kms far away from Addis Ababa the Capital.

The subjects of the study were ten 10 English teachers and students of the grade levels. Simple random sampling was used for students and purposive sampling was used for teachers. The data were collected through four instruments; namely written test, questionnaire, classroom observation and document analysis. The data were analyzed using Z score, achievement test score and descriptive statistics for the written test, simple descriptive statistics for close ended questionnaire and classroom observation and thematic and inductive analysis techniques for open ended questionnaire and document analysis.

Therefore, it was suggested that writing skills should be taught according to its principles in process approach at preparatory schools because they are facing many challenges at college courses, teachers should expose learners for different writing activities and the textbooks should be revisited in line with process approach in writing skills. The woreda organized in to 24 kebles, from these the researcher have been used six kebeles as a representative based on stratified sampling techniques through agro ecological zone.

Primary and secondary data and questioner, interview, FGD and field observation were used. Books, unpublished materials were used as a secondary data. There is a significant relationship between farming experience and perceptions of farmers towards temperature changes and farming experience, agro-ecological zone with perceptions of farmers to wards rainfall change. Transnational Human Trafficking. The Case of Hadiya-South Africa Migration

Natural pasture and house leftover were the major feed resources during the rainy season whereas natural pasture, crop residue, improved forage and house leftover were the feed resources in the dry season. Male sheep were given higher choice than females during selection. Matured sheep which are within the age range of years had got higher choice in selection over the young ones The price of fattening sheep depends on body condition, castration, age, color and ranging from ETB.

Exposed challenges were lack of awareness, lack of marketing channels and distance from marketing place. Both market supply and demand of sheep were typically seasonal and reaches peak during the holidays. Agricultural development agents should give attention in creating awareness for farmers by providing adequate skill and monitoring.

Ethiopia has the largest livestock population in Africa with estimated number of Sheep have a great environmental adaptability, short production cycle, faster growth rates, easy management, low investment capital and low feed requirement as compared to large ruminants.

They provide their owners with a vast range of products and services such as meat, skin, hair, wool and manure and as means of saving and investment. Similarly, the countries have huge and diverse sheep population and genetic diversity is the requisite for the present and future livelihoods of a large number of poor farmers.

Sheep serve as living bank for their owner and immediate cash need and ensures against crop failure especially where land productivity is low and a reliable due to erratic rainfall, sever erosion, too frost and logging problems. In the country, the highland sheep are important source in the diet of poor farmers, help in providing extra income and support for survival of many farmers, the income obtained from sheep are used to purchase household commodities and farm inputs. This targets the local market that has high demand for fat animals.

The operation of large feedlots by export slaughter houses and independent feedlot operators on-farm feedlots is becoming feasible. The principal functions of such feedlot operations are to assemble large numbers of sheep, often coming from different genetic and management backgrounds, and produce a product of acceptable standard.

Short term intensive feeding using locally available feedstuffs is a strategy that can be employed to increase animal live weights and subsequent carcass yields. Short term intensive feeding prior to sale is economically more feasible than the current systems where animals are kept for long periods of time on maintenance level feeding.

Cost benefit analyses of short-term fattening compared to maintenance feeding for extended periods show that short term fattening can be a viable business venture. The domestic market remains to be the largest consumer of Sheep in Ethiopia even though exports have been increasing over the past years. A fattening operation can be of various sizes. One can fatten a single sheep up to many hundreds or even thousands depending upon availability of capital, market access, etc.

This can be done through provision of training, credit, fostering market access, etc. Such practice is the most common traditional fattening practice among farmers in various parts of Ethiopia.Masters thesis, Addis Ababa University.
