Well personally if I want to expand a circle I would like for it to remain a circle and not become two conjoined blobs. But maybe that's just me. Yes that's the case, same with rectangles and other typical drawn forms, its just more apparent with circles, especially if you try to make an ellipse with it, it just make two spheres. Maybe the Shape Tools plugin could be the right tool for this task. I think there's an existing report about this -- it's only seen when the project is set to a geographic crs.

Experimenting I found that if my project CRS is set to and my digitizing layer is I get the dimpled circle: If my project is set to and my digitizing layer is set to I get an vertical eye shape: It seems like the bounding points are created based on the project CRS but the arcs are being calculated based on the layer CRS or something. They become either squatter or more stretched out depending on the original CRS but maintain their dimpled and eye shapes. I think that's a common scenario and would expect the generated geometry to start off as a true circle in the project CRS.

It seems that adding a circular string has the same issue. I was thinking that a clunky work around may be to create temporary scratch layer that is the same CRS as your project create the circles you want and then copy and paste them to your layer with the desired CRS but that produces the same issue. Also exporting a temporary scratch layer or geopackage from to had the same effect. The only way I figured out how to get a circle to export without becoming dimpled was to export it as a shapefile with the same CRS I think as a shapefile it is no longer a circular string and instead becomes faceted and then export it to Is it possible that this is a problem kimai installation ubuntu effects the conversion of any layer with circular strings?

See closed to easily reproduce. It is the switch between geo and non geo crs. I also opt there to not give the ability to create circles and such in geo crs layers IF the project crs is non-geo crs That looks fine, but if you then copy them to your non geo crs layer they are warped again.

Even if you digitize the geometry in the same CRS and they are true circles if you then re-project keeping the curve type geometry you will end up with the same issue. I think this is will occur anytime you have curve geometry and are going from a geo to non geo crs and it is only obvious with circles. To try this create a geopackage with curvepoly type geometry in CRS and then add a circle or any geometry with curves. Do a Save features as to CRS and see that it is now bunned up.

This happens with the geometry set to either the default automatic and polygon. Both keep it as curvepoly. I assume there is a way to convert it to non curve geometry in custom options.

If however you start with a geopackage with the geometry type set to Polygon there is no bunning of course you loose the benefit of the curves. When creating a temporary scratch layer there is no option to choose a non curve geometry. Yes, It's a duplicate of Skip to content.

This page describes the basic procedure for translating Gerber files and filling polygons using a technique known as Polygon Fill. The last input will determine the length of the semi-minor axis for this ellipse. A circle viewed from a side angle looks like an ellipse: that is, the ellipse is the image of a circle under parallel or perspective projection.

Add polygons to represent areas on the map. A circle is also a plane figure but it is not considered a polygon, because it is a curved shape and does not have sides or angles. The second method is to use the polygon command with the polygons centre in the centre of the circle, drawn out to the edge of the circle line.

KML-Circles is an online app that creates open or filled polygons around a specified center point. Then restart AutoCAD. The Polygon class encapsulates a description of a closed, two-dimensional region within a coordinate space.

Click on a … A Circle is a mathematical figure formed by joining all points lying on the same plane and are at equal distance from a given point. Hopefully, you now have a clear idea about what a 10 sided polygon is as well as the two different types of 10 sided polygons or decagons that exist. What is polygon in AutoCAD? A polygon is a figure formed by the finite number of line segments connected to form a closed circuit. If middle-center justified text with height of 0 was required in model space that was millimeters high, what workflow would you use?

Another possibility, is to draw a temporary line from the point you are testing to infinity, and test how many intersection it has with your polyline. How do you wipeout a circle? Copy a few of your polys to a new drawing and try it there first. Note: This algorithm does not care whether the polygon is traced in clockwise or counterclockwise fashion.

Let's Review. They cannot be complex features such as annotation features, dimension features, or network features. Return the trajectory segments that intersects the given feature. Mapping the result, we see that our results are a polygon feature set that includes only those areas that overlapped between the hex grid cells and the water features.

I also played around with assigning hexagons along the coasts and national border to states based on the size of the intersection, but in the end opted to assign those hexagons … Graphs from a set of lines. The steps remaining now are to generate some random points around Victoria to simulate addressescreate some rotated bounding boxes for our postcodes, and join the postcodes to our random points.

All the usual QGIS shortcuts for creating features apply when creating annotation items. A ezmira windows or polygon annotation is drawn by left-clicking once for each vertex, with a final right mouse click to complete the shape.

While annotations are created in this free-form way, every annotation item is still completely geo-referenced and tied to a particular geographic location. This is what makes them a great tool to help quickly create beautiful maps! Unlike traditional vector or raster or mesh, or point cloud! They exist within a single QGIS project only, so they are perfect for project-specific markups and cartographic notes.

Creating a circle feature

By default, any newly created annotation item will be placed on top of all your other map content. Just like any other map layer, you can toggle their visibility, rename them, and even reposition them to control whether the annotations show above or below particular layers in your map! Note that whenever you have a secondary annotation layer selected as the current layer, any newly drawn annotation items will be placed into this layer instead of the main annotation layer.

We see this as the starting point of an exciting journey, and North Road developers have many plans for further enhancement of annotation layers in future QGIS releases. Skip to content.
